Ananta Niketan

This blog is about a nice little Ashram at Tiruvannamalai called "Sri Ananta Niketan." Comfortably situated sufficiently far from the din and bustle of the town, it is at the same time close enough to reach Sri Ramana Asramam within 15 minutes by an autoriskshaw. A great place for those seekers who wish to take a longish holiday at Tiruvannamalai.

The Ashram is usually full during the tourist season November- March, when visitors come in groups to hold retreats at this place. Therefore it is a good idea to call up first and confirm availability of space.

Sri Ananta Niketan is situated about 10 km west of Sri Ramana Asramam. If you go on NH 66 for about 9 km (towards Bangalore), there is a bus-stop called Thanamedu. There are a couple of sign posts there pointing to Ananta-Niketan and Paliapattu village. Turn right there and go another half a kilometer and there you are.

The place runs itself. Gopi and Chitra help.
